BitTorrent and uTorrent are one of the most popular ones. This kind of technology had been into various debates regarding copyright policy and software piracy. But for the makers of Torrent, they insists that it is a means of file sharing.
Because of the numerous lawsuits that companies are filing against this technology, the popular torrent search engine Torrentz had been shut down. Though you may still visit the site but no results will be displayed.
In India, the government is taking a strong stand against online piracy. Several internet providers are warning users of illegally downloading and uploading files in torrent. Should you be caught, you'll be sentenced to three-years of imprisonment and a fine of up to Rs. 300,000 ($4,480).
