A long time ago, in a galaxy far, far away ... a Stormtrooper stood, sweating and anxious, in the sands of a desert world.

That's how the 88-second teaser trailer for Star Wars: The Force Awakens starts, and it continues with other wild and very Star Wars-like images: an orange beachball-shaped droid with an R2-D2-like head rolling through those sands, all-new Stormtroopers, Daisy Ridley on a new kind of speeder bike, Oscar Isaac in an X-Wing, a cloaked figure in the snow with a fiery cross-shaped lightsaber broadsword, and then ... ladies and gentlemen, the all-new Millennium Falcon, with rectangular radar dish, fighting off TIE fighters.
Over all this, we hear a voiceover from an as-yet-unidentified voice, which may or may not be Max Von Sydow or Andy Serkis, saying, "There has been an awakening. Have you felt it? The dark side ... and the light."
There's one piece of writing in the trailer, on the X-wing pilot's uniform, written in the language of the Star Wars universe, known as Aurebesh. And what does it say? Star Wars nerds had that answer almost immediately: "Pull to inflate."
Notably absent from the 88-second teaser: Mark Hamill, Carrie Fisher and Harrison Ford.
The trailer was anticipated, according to one rumor, at 3 a.m. ET on Friday. In fact, the president of Disney France had revealed the exact time in a now-deleted tweet: 10:15 a.m. ET.
You can download the trailer, here, on Apple's trailer website — or simply check out the YouTube video, above.
The trailer is appearing in 30 select theaters Friday. The movie, also known as Episode VII of theStar Wars saga, will be released on Dec. 18, 2015.
