Remember Xian Gaza? The guy who made a billboard for Erich Gonzales in exchange for a date? Well, here he is. Out of the country last 2018 and even bragged on how he managed to escape the authorities despite having a number of criminal records and a warrant of arrest.

On a Facebook post by Xian Gaza himself, he unfolded the story on how he was able to leave the country by delaying his flight.

So 4:40am of September 30 eh dumating ako sa NAIA Terminal 3 ng may tatlong ticket. Isang pa-SG, isang pa-Taipei at isang pa-HK. Yung SG at Taipei eh naka-online checkin na as my decoy flights. Inantay kong magclose lahat ng checkin counters ng HK flight para hindi ako mapasama sa main passenger manifest who managed to checkin. Around 5:10am eh nagdrama ako sa kabilang counter para makahabol at itimbre nalang yung pangalan ko sa boarding gate via radio comm.

Ngayon eh tapos na ako sa stage 1 which is to checkin my decoy flights and makuha ang boarding pass ko after magclose ang counter. Yung kasunod ang pinakamabigat sa lahat, immigration counter. Dito na kasi lalabas lahat ng criminal records ko and all shits under my name. 

 Around 5:25am, after kong mag-fillup ng departure card eh saka ko pumila sa immigration. May isang CebuPac crew na dumating at sumisigaw na yung mga natitira pang HK bound passengers ng flight 5J272 ay maaari ng sumingit sa pila dahil start na daw ng boarding in 5 minutes. Deadma lang ako at nagstay lang sa pila kasi kailangan eh mismong last minute ako makapasok ng eroplano. Yung tipong ako na dapat yung pinakahuling pasahero. Malalaman niyo mamaya kung bakit.

This is it pancit! This is the moment! Grabe nerbyos ko that time swear. Tinanggal ko na yung mask ko at inabot ang passport and boarding pass kay ate immigration officer.

IO: "Good morning Mr. Gaza. I just want to inform you na may red flag po ang name ninyo, naka-note dito na may existing 3 warrants of arrest ka. 2 bench warrants then yung isa is execution of sentence."

ME: "Yes Madam I am highly aware po. Linawin ko lang din po that upon checking multiple times with your main office sa Intramuros eh wala po akong hold departure order and wala rin ako sa watch list ng DOJ. That means na I am legally permitted to fly anytime."

IO: "Hmm yes that's correct sir. We have no rights to put you on-hold by all means, yes, makakalusot po kayo ng counter. But sir, I am obliged to call the PNP and airport police immediately pagkalampas niyo po ng counter. That's the protocol I'm sorry."

ME: "Madam do what you have to do I understand po. Trabaho lang I know."

Pagkaabot sa akin ng passport at boarding pass eh karipas agad ako sa pila papasok ng boarding area. Tick tock tick tock tick tock kalaban ko na ang bawat segundo ngayon! Hindi ko madescribe yung bigat ng pakiramdam ko that very moment.
 

Pagpasok na pagpasok ko ng boarding area eh narinig ko na agad yung "Final call for boarding final call for boarding, Hong Kong bound flight 5J272, passenger Christian Albert Gaza. Again, Mr. Christian Albert Gaza, please proceed now to gate 1-0-9. The gate is about to close. This is your final call.". Boom! Perfect as planned! 

Eto na yung very crucial window moment na either umabot ako at makapasok sa aircraft or maiwan at maaresto sa departure area. Zoom in niyo yung mata ko diyan guys ng makita niyo kung gaano katinding tensyon ang nararamdaman ko. Pucha pang-Hollywood film kasi ang peg ng mga pangyayari! Hindi pa tapos guys eto pa... 

Last passenger of flight 5J272 is now on-board which is ako yun. Okay na lusot na nakaupo na nga. Putek biglang may dumating na airport police at uniformed PNP! Pinapa-page sa mga cabin crew yung pangalan ko to check if I'm on-board! Tanqinyeam gravity mukhang mapupurnada pa at makukulong ng 5 years ang Kuya mo Xian! Tayo agad ako pucha! Deretso sa toilet sabay lock ng pinto. Hindi ko na nakayanan at tumulo na ang luha ko sa loob. Grabe ang dasal ko as in while panic attack. 

Nung narinig ko na sa cabin crew yung salitang "cross-check" eh doon na ko nakahinga. Alam ko na that time na wala na lahat ng ground personnel at sarado na ang mga pinto ng aircraft. Thank you Lord! Wooh! Remember my 2 decoy flights bound to SG and Taipei? For sure eh doon na sila sumunod nagpunta at naghanap dahil positive ang name ko on both passenger manifests. I strategically booked my HK flight ahead of time sa dalawa for that very purpose. Advance ako magisip.

 
Pagkaupo ko sa assigned seat ko, dumungaw ako sa bintana, very emotional Xian. Alam ko na kasi sa sarili ko na yun na yung mga huling sandali ko sa pinakamamahal kong bansang Pilipinas.

Last month, I made a very big decision sa buhay ko. Kailangan kong mamili kung tatanggapin ko ba ang conditional pardon deal kapalit ng serbisyo ko sa NBI Anti-Fraud Division for 5 years with watch list and hold departure order or simulan ko na ang citizenship application ko, with the help of my Singaporean boss, sa isang bansa sa Latin Americas at tuluyan ng iwan sa aking nakaraan ang bansang Pilipinas.

I chose the latter. New identity, new citizenship, new passport, new life. Thank you for the 25 years of memories my dear beloved Philippines.
